Hello there- please be patient with me as I am a brand new blogger!  Emergent Life Ministries became a vision of mine in the summer of 2010 and I am excited to see where God takes it.  My name is Karen Johnson.  Although I have been a Christian for most of my life, it has only been in the past decade that I’ve begun to really emerge into a Christian walk.  I have felt much like a caterpillar emerging from a cocoon.  Have you ever watched that happen?  My class and I were able to do so last spring and it is quite an endeavor.  The caterpillar gains strength through the battle to emerge from its confining cocoon and would not survive if the journey was too easy.  In much the same way, we learn and grow through the trials we go through in life.  James 1:2-4 tells us to ‘count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.’
